Foundation crack repair and technical resin injection

High-pressure mechanical ports inject hydrophobic resin through the full cross-section of the wall.

How structural engineers choose between elastic expanding resins and high-tensile bonding agents when sealing foundation fissures.

Concrete shrinkage during the curing process is normal, but discovering water trickling through a foundation fissure requires immediate diagnosis. Selecting the correct injection compound determines whether the repair will last decades or fail during the next heavy storm.

Hydrophobic Polyurethane: For Leaking Cracks

When a crack actively seeps moisture, polyurethane is the premier choice. Injected at pressures exceeding 1,500 PSI, the resin reacts with water, expanding up to 20 times its original liquid volume into a dense, closed-cell rubberized gasket. Because it retains elasticity, it accommodates thermal wall movement without breaking the seal.

“Using the wrong injection material is the most common cause of recurrent foundation leaks in residential basements.”

Structural Epoxy: For Dry Shear Stress Fissures

If a crack has caused structural displacement or loss of concrete cohesion, high-modulus structural epoxy is deployed. Curing with a compressive and tensile strength exceeding that of the surrounding concrete, epoxy effectively welds fractured foundation panels back together.
